Yes, you can try to locate one at the Clerk's Office or at the Waukesha County Register of Deeds. These entities only have a copy of the survey if one was furnished at the time the home was built. If you have a copy and it shows "proposed" - this will not be accepted - a copy showing the "as built" is what we would determine the measurements from.
Yes. Any plumbing work, HVAC, electrical, or overall building structural changes or floor plan changes require a permit. If you are not sure, please contact our building inspector.
Yes. For an in-ground pool, a 4-foot fence is required. It must have a self closing and self latching gate. Above ground pools also require a 4-foot fence if any portion of the pool wall is less than 4-feet to the ground. Above ground pools also need self closing self latching gates on decks attached to the pool OR if a ladder is used, it must be able to be locked from use. Example: the above ground pool is built into the side of the hill slightly. The distance from the ground to the top rail of the pool on that side is 2 feet. A fence would be required.

Licenses are due no later than April 1 of each year. The license fee for dogs that are not neutered or spayed is $17 and $14 for dogs that are neutered or spayed. A $10 (per dog) late fee is assessed after April 1. Proof of rabies vaccination must be presented with license application. Apply Online and mail your check in to the City Hall. A tag will be mailed back to you.
Anyone paying City of Delafield taxes can receive a pass at City Hall. There is a $20 annual fee per permit. The make of the vehicle and license plate number are required as well as proof of residency. Only 4 types of residency have been approved by the Common Council: Driver License, Rental Document, Tax Bill, or Motor Vehicle Registration. All must be valid and un-expired to qualify.
The Delafield Farmers Market is open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays between May 1 and October 30. It is located in the city parking lot on Main Street, rain or shine. Bricks from individuals, families, military units, or non-profit agencies will be placed within individual memorial sites. Business and corporate sponsorships are encouraged and will be placed at the main entry and priced accordingly. The Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Riverwalk is a 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions are deductible to the extent allowed by law. The Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Riverwalk Board retains the right of final approval and placement of all engravings. A few reasons your application may have been pushed to the next meeting are as follows:
1.) Your application had missing items.
2.) Your did not submit the appropriate number of copies for the Board, Committee, or Commission to view your application.
3.) Your application was complete, but items on it needed to be changed.
4.) You application was complete, but the City Planner was not able to review the item prior to the meeting. The City Planner is a 3rd party contractor who is not located within the City Hall.
We encourage you to get your items in well before the deadline posted to allow for these types of issues to be resolved prior to the publishing deadline.
The City is not able to cover the cost of the copies for the applications. The copies are for the members of the Board, Committee, or Commission to better review your project. Additional copies included in the count go to the City Planner, Administrator, Engineer, and other members as needed. One of the paper copies goes into the paper file. The digital copy is kept in a digital file and is posted on the city website.
The City Hall does not do a review of your file for completeness or accuracy. Before you submit your project, we encourage you to contact the City Planner - a 3rd party contractor not located on site. We will accept your items at the City Hall, but will wait until our City Planner can review them before they are posted to the meeting. To avoid being pushed to the next meeting, we recommend speaking with the planner ahead of time, submitting your application well before the deadline, and including multiple points of contact on your application in case we have questions.
The address listed on the ticket is the address where Court is held. This is not the same building as the police department.
